Glasgow risers Tanzana announce debut EP ‘Etched In’, set for release October 9th via SO Recordings & Hideous Mink Records (Big Special, Opus Kink, Placebo, Y), and share new single ‘Without A Sound’, out today (July 28th).
Signaling the follow-up to their initial EP reveals ‘Covet’ and ‘Pulse, Pose, Position’, Tanzana’s tantalising new effort drifts between genres and showcases their heaviest material to date. Equipped with punchy guitars and enigmatic frontwoman Freya Talbot’s gripping vocals, the group are fast becoming leading figures in Scotland’s emerging music scene, having made debut appearances at the likes of TRNSMT and The Great Escape over the summer months. With a tour support alongside Madra Salach ticked off earlier this year, in addition to slots with Clifford sand Lucia & The Best Boys, Tanzana are certainly making their mark as a live proposition.
Gaining plaudits from key champions including NME, DIY, So Young, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash and Rough Trade, as well as BBC 6 Music airplay via Steve Lamacq and a Radio X playlist spot (John Kennedy), the five-piece are primed for a busy autumn on the live circuit to coincide with their EP’s arrival.
Detailing their third release, Talbot added: “‘Without A Sound’ deals with the connection to the art you make and the frustration caused when pushing yourself to your limit.
